Video Games Gone Healthy

Do you often find yourself a prisoner couch potato at the mercy of video games? Want to play games yet still be active? Well, look no further because with today’s technology the Wii, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 offer great family fitness video games that everyone will like. From Wii Fit, to The Michael Jackson Experience, to Dance Dance Revolution and Brunswick Pro Bowling you are guaranteed to get hip and healthy. This is where playing fun games meets exercise. So gear up and have your water bottle and towel on stand by. But just like a gym membership… everything costs.

Playstation 3 has the accessory item, Playstation Move. You hold the game controller wand and the system senses your movement by using Playstation Eye technology to track the wand’s position. This fitness feature starts at an additional $42 but you have to already have the game system.

The Wii starts at $169 for the console, game, and controller. And that’s everything you need to get started! The system comes with a complimentary Wii Sports. Now for our serious gamers who would like more accurate precision and better game play movement sensing, try the Wii Motion Plus starting at an additional $18.

The Xbox 360 has the accessory item, Kinect, that provides for full body gaming. Their motto is, “You are the controller.”Starting price for this gizmo is $149, but keep in mind that’s additional to the game system.

Although these items may look pricey, aren’t you worth it? I mean, who wouldn’t want to get great exercise and also enjoy great video gaming? (**Attention parents: if you can’t beat them, join them**). But don’t take my word for it! Go out and see for yourself and if you have any questions, just Ask Nurse Alice.
